Twitter isn’t for everyone, but the social networking and microblogging service is being used for everything from reporting breaking news to “tweeting” your breakfast. We’ve been using Twitter since 2007, and have consulted with Twitter users in business, politics and education.

Besides using the actual Twitter service, a Twitter stream can be used to update Facebook, or can be embedded on a website. For events such as PodCamp Pittsburgh, we have used a service called GroupTweet to turn a Twitter account into a group communication hub, and projected tweets with a certain hashtag onto a wall for attendees to interact with.
